Stewkley United 0

Oakley United 2

The weather finally came good on Easter Monday, making perfect conditions for the final. The kick off was delayed by five minutes as Oakley had to wait for a player to turn up. The game itself was a low key affair with limited chances being created by either side. Oakley took the lead 15 minutes before half time by playing the ball out to the left, a tactic employed all through the first half, taking the ball to the goal line and cutting it back for a simple tap in. Stewkley created a great chance just before half time but hit the post. The second half saw Stewkley more in the game and pushed Oakley back but they couldn't find the equaliser and then with six minutes to go a long ranch strike by Shayne Almond secured the cup for Oakley.

The Oving Village Cup was presented to Oakley United by Mr Neil Robinson, the former Wing FC player who has ten Oving Village Cup winner medals something unlikely to be surpassed. Thanks to the officials, Connor Smith, Robert Mason and Ian Macleod who made sure nothing got out of hand.

Lastly, a word of thanks to the Oving Village Cup committee and all the supporters, who once again turned out on Easter Monday to support the competition.
